Same-Sex Marriages Begin in Florida

We wish to extend our heartfelt congratulations to all those who are now able to get married across the State of Florida.

Tips on getting married today

♦ Couples applying for a marriage license must be 18 or older, present a government-issued identification card, know their Social Security numbers (non-citizens can give a passport number), and, if married before, know the month, date and year when the last marriage ended.

♦ The cost for the marriage license is $93.50. The three-day waiting period will be waived from Tuesday through Friday for same-sex couples only.

♦ Couples can be married at any of the clerk’s offices, including the main office in Tampa and branch offices in Plant City, Brandon and Ruskin, for an additional cost of $30.

♦ Clerk Pat Frank will perform a group marriage ceremony at noon Tuesday — outdoors if the crowd size warrants it. Check at the Official Records Department, Room 140, 419 Pierce St. Those interested must get a license no later than 11:45 a.m.
