Description: Our client was arrested after going through a DUI checkpoint. Inside of her purse, the police found two controlled substances. The prosecutor charged her with two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance – third degree felonies.
We hired private investigators for our client, conducted depositions, and filed a 9-page Motion to Suppress the search of our client.
Ultimately, on the date of the Motion to Suppress, the State Attorney’s Office agreed to reduce their request of 2 felonies and 9 months in jail to 2 misdemeanors (withhold of adjudication) and probation.
