Case: State v. P.A.H. ()
Charges: Traffic Court Resultsking in Marijuana
Date: June 13, 2023
Outcome: Waive 3-year mandatory minimum and plea to 6 months jail
Description: A keen drug dog did not pass by P.A.H.’s suitcase loaded with 42.5 pounds of marijuana at the Tampa International Airport. P.A.H. was arrested for Traffic Court Resultsking and facing a mandatory minimum sentence of 3 years in Florida State Prison. We had no legal defenses; we could only present mitigation and reasons why P.A.H. didn’t deserve prison. We negotiated with the State for nearly one year, then pushed the case to trial. The week before trial, the State agreed to waive the mandatory minimum and give a jail sentence.
