Case: State v. B.M.W. (Pinellas County)
Charges: Violation of Injunction
Date: June 26, 2023
Outcome: DROPPED – DISMISSED
Description: B.M.W. was arrested on a truly terrible probable cause affidavit alleging that B.M.W. violated an injunction. We immediately set a court hearing to get B.M.W. out of jail and allow travel out-of-state. We began calling the assigned Assistant State Attorney who had a poor attitude and even worse perspective on criminal matters. Further calls went to a supervisor. After a contentious court hearing, where we fought the judge and the State, our client was out and allowed to travel. Seventeen days after B.M.W.’s arrest, our logical arguments won and the aggressive State had to DISMISS the charges.
