Description: C.A.K.’s was arrested on Jan. 8, 2023, for a violation of probation for testing positive for a controlled substance. C.A.K.’s family called me on Jan. 9 regarding a first appearance on Jan. 10. At the Jan. 10 first appearance hearing, I got a VOP hearing on Jan. 11. At the Jan. 11 hearing, the State was requesting 30 days in jail and I negotiated with the judge for a 7-day jail sentence with credit for 4 days served, with a reinstatement of probation. C.A.K. was able to keep their job, apartment, and car because we got C.A.K. back out of jail so quickly and resolved the case in C.A.K.’s interest.
