Description: K.M. had NO criminal history. After a night of drinking, K.M. battered and choked his girlfriend, and K.M. was arrested for Domestic Battery with Strangulation. We took and began what turned out to be a LONG journey. First, we contacted the State Attorney’s Office before they filed any charges and began negotiations. We put our client in a position where the State agreed to file a misdemeanor instead of a felony. Next, we were able to get K.M. a withhold of adjudication, which meant that K.M. was NOT convicted of a crime. By getting his case reduced and securing a withhold of adjudication, were saved K.M.’s job and career. Finally, we got K.M.’s record SEALED so no one can see this charge without a court order.
