Case: State v. L.F.S. (Pasco County)
Charges: DUI and Careless Driving
Date: August 19, 2024
Outcome: DUI REDUCED to Reckless Driving and Careless Driving DISMISSED
Description: L.F.S. was driving at erratic speeds up to 104 m.p.h., changing lanes erratically, and having difficulty staying in one lane on a straightaway. During the stop, L.F.S. showed multiple signs of impairment, performed poorly on field sobriety exercises, and ultimately refused to give a breath sample. After nearly one full year of negotiations, the State reduced the DUI to a Reckless Driving and the Court DISMISSED the accompanying infraction.
