Description: M.E.B. was charged with a domestic battery. We contacted the State and worked to get the charges dropped, but ultimately with three days left in the speedy trial period, the State filed the charges. We were ready to demand our speedy trial and fight the charges in quick jury trial within 15 days, but M.E.B. opted for the guarantee of getting the charges dropped by entering a diversion program. We were prepared for a fight that didn’t happen and provided our client several options. M.E.B. chose the best one for M.E.B. UPDATE: charges were DIMISSED and M.E.B. got the charge expunged, or completely removed from a permanent record.
